Big surprise, Sony jacks up PlayStation Plus again — now £100+ a year for the “privilege” of monthly shovelware. Where’s the common sense?
Just logged into my account to renew and almost choked on my tea. Sony’s rammed through another price hike, pushing the top-tier Deluxe plan well past the £100 mark here in the UK. Essential is now £71.99, Extra is £99.99, and Deluxe? A whopping £119.99 a year.
Call me crazy, but when did “paying more for less” become acceptable? The “free” monthly games are mostly indie fillers or five-year-old titles they’ve already given away twice. Online multiplayer (which used to be free, remember?) costs a fortune, and cloud saves are locked behind the paywall.
It’s getting beyond a joke. Families already can’t keep up with bills and food prices, and Sony thinks we’ll just swallow a 20-30% hike on an online tax? Microsoft’s Game Pass is literally cheaper and day-one launches new titles. But hey, keep bending over for that shiny PlayStation logo, I guess.
Common sense says: stop voting with your wallet. But apparently “loyalty” means paying through the nose for the privilege of deleting old games to make space. Moronic.
