LOCAL MAN HAS “HAD ENOUGH” AFTER DOWNTOWN SHOOTING, DEMANDS COMMON SENSE RETURN TO SAN DIEGO

Dale Morrison, 54, a self-described “blue-collar realist,” is going viral this morning after a furious Facebook rant that has already been shared over 3,200 times. The post, which appeared at 3:47 AM last night, was sparked by the shooting that shut down 5th Avenue near the Gaslamp Quarter around midnight.
“I’m sick of the pearl-clutching and the hand-wringing from the City Council,” Morrison wrote. “We all saw the grainy video. Three dudes in hoodies, a feud over a wannabe gangster parking spot, and now a 22-year-old is in the ICU for doing nothing wrong. No amount of ‘community healing circles’ is going to un-pull that trigger. ”
The comment section exploded. “Thank you, Dale! Common sense isn’t so common anymore. We need to enforce the laws already on the books, not create more touchy-feely task forces,” wrote Linda Garcia of Normal Heights.
Morrison’s core argument? “It’s not about the Second Amendment. It’s about consequences. You want to carry a stolen gun downtown at 2 AM while you’re on probation? You need to be in jail, not on the street ‘de-escalating’ with a social worker. Bring back shame. Bring back accountability. Bring back police who are allowed to police. ”
City Council President Sean Elo-Rivera issued a terse statement: “We mourn the victim. We condemn this violence. We will continue to invest in community safety strategies.” Morrison’s response? “Invest in handcuffs, Sean.”
