🤬 Unpopular opinion, but I’m saying it anyway: if I see ONE more biodegradable “wish lantern” floating over my dry-ass backyard this summer, I’m getting the hose.

Just watched the neighbors launch one into the sky at 10pm. Looked pretty, sure. Then the wind caught it, it dropped into Dave’s pine tree next door, and now Dave’s out there with a flashlight and a broom trying to fish a burning piece of trash out of his gutters at 10:15pm.

COMMON SENSE: If you have to call it “biodegradable,” guess what? It’s still trash for the next six months. It’s a floating fire hazard with a wire frame that birds get tangled in. Use a candle. Use a sparkler. Or just sit outside and look at the actual stars.

You want a magical evening? Fine. But keep your miniature hot air balloon full of wishes out of my fence line. We are not a wishing well. We are a fire zone.
